This past Friday April 21 and Saturday April 22 I attended the WITS (The women in tech summit). As always there was a mixture of workshops and talks. Friday jumped right into it while have some time to network. Saturday had a phenomenal key note speaker who really set the tone for the day. I met some very lovely and talented ladies from all over the east coast. Every time I am in a WIT type event I am always so floored by how much talent can be in one room at one time. Sensational. I attended workshop about teams, personal branding, AngularJS, and using GIT. I attended some very informative and inspirational talks from other women in the technology field. Since this is my first post I wanted to keep this short and sweet. Here is a clip from one of the talks I attended. The lady who is…

I’ve recently had the opportunity to attend the opening of the first Clarins stand-alone store in King of Prussia Mall. Let me first start by saying the store is gorgeous. It completely shattered my childhood impression of who Clarins was tailored to. (Yes I use to only think of Clarins as the moisturizer my grandmother would wear.) The store is stylish and modern while feeling very homey. “This new boutique demonstrates our desire to focus on our clients and make them feel they are the center of attention, because they are. We want to be able to listen to them better, offer personalized advice and have a chance to really pamper them.” – Natalie Bader, President of the Clarins Brand.   What you can find at the store Did you know that Clarins is one of the most popular European skincare companies? Well, now you can find the fan favorites…

So March 1st I attended the Tampax and Always sponsored Neon Lights tour for Demi Lovato. This was the first time I had seen Demi in concert and surrounded by many teen gals screaming it was still a pretty nice concert. Words of empowerment came from a number of songs both by the singer as well as the bands that kicked off the concert show. Prior to the show I met up with the Tampax Radiant duo at their section (which by the way the entire hall was PACKED) of the hall to learn more about the closet that the team put together. I absolutely loved the general chic-ness to the pop up room. It had a very modern chic vibe with vibrant colors and a gorgeous chevron pattered wall (I need that wall). To be honest I wasn’t a fan of most of the clothes that were in the…

So I decided today I would take a break from my excruciating projects for school (Finals of course) and figure out what in the heck I was going to wear to this concert. Normally I don’t particularly stray from what I normally do for a concert. I just dress in what is comfortable and make sure I have a pair of sneakers on with thicker soles (usually skate shoes) so the vibrations don’t kill my back so much. At the same time I’m not usually getting my photo taken (and usually when I am it is hot as hell and I try to look good and the heat doesn’t agree with my hair or makeup anyway). Seriously I am terrible at it, check it out below. Back Street Boys (not whole band) Maroon 5 JesseMcCartney So now that you’ve seen my shameful photos I thought hey, I have absolutely NO neon…

Yes you hear right, Lush Cosmetics now has a spa in our very own Philadelphia located on Walnut Street in center city and let me tell you that it is absolutely fabulous. As a girl that appreciates aesthetics of design in various forms I can tell you this is unlike any spa you’ve experienced to date. (Or at least I have experienced.) There seems to be a general standard for spas, tan walls, white towels and robes. In my mind a very beach like feel no matter if I was in Massachusetts, Florida or some other state the experience was similar if not the same. There was no unique experience, no remembrance of the location. Nothing stood out. Flash forward to Thursday’s event where I first hand got to see these fabulous masseuses in action. Each of the 6 (7 including tailor made) programs has a different soundtrack created by…

Linvilla Orchards is one of my favorite places to visit in the fall. If you are in the tri-state area I highly recommend a visit if you are a fall loving person. This year they also had a much larger selection for terrarium set ups which is a hot DIY currently, and a personal favorite of mine! The terrarium set ups, planters and plants are, for the most part cheaper than getting them from your local shop, Lowes or home depot in the city. (If you’ve found a cheaper place please let me know!) We normally go during the week when no one is there, this time we went on the weekend and it was by far the busiest I’ve ever seen it (Could those ads on I95 have something to do with it? Maybe.) Regardless they had a live band and delicious food and I always love their market…

Earlier this month I had the pleasure to attend the curvy closets fashion show in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia. The fashion show showcased absolutely stunning clothing for every size and as I missed this year’s Full Figured Fashion week I was excited to still check out some fall fashion and to see the debut of Allison McGevna’s new line TwentyFour20. Some of the designers included BellaNOR boutique, Kiyonna, Elocin, and Sean Anthony Designs. Below are my top favorite styles from the night. I am pretty excited about the new TwentyFour20 line, see it below! There were a ton of clothes modeled and I may add more to my flickr account because there were many more outfits that were not my style but still amazingly cool. If I do that link will be at the bottom of the post. One of the vendors along the walls of the fashion show. What I…

Let me start by saying there are some brands out there that I honestly just find intimidating. Yes I love makeup but I am by no means a PRO or a makeup artist (though I have some fabulous friends that are).  MAKE UP FOR EVER was one of these brands for me. I’ve only ever looked at their products at Sephora. But now having meet the team at the King of Prussia store and seeing what Employees of MAKE UP FOR EVER are about I feel the complete opposite. They made you feel so comfortable and they really just want to teach you the brilliant ways of makeup.    I found out they have makeup lessons, and even this September they will have their very own Makeup Lesson Studio where the artists apply from behind you so that it can be filmed and you can watch it again from…

Say Hello to Philly Blog Love, a new blogging social group for those who are in or around Philadelphia. Their first ever happy hour event was hosted during Center City Sips at Sampan Restaurant on 13th Street. It was a great time we talked about blogging, Philly and tons of things in-between while enjoying Sips and some lovely bites. I got to meet a bunch of new bloggers so it was a pretty exciting event for me. I even had a nice conversation with Brittiny Stewart from FashionofPhilly and she is the new Community Affairs Director of Philly Blog Love. I spent most of my time talking with the amazing Natalie Hodak of thesecondbestblog and the lovely Mackenzie Day who writes for Trend Hungry. There are great things to come from Philly Blog Love so stay tuned for an update! LEFT TO RIGHT: Mackenzie, Jade, Natalie, Jessica, Onyx
