Here is a little background bite about our type of home. Homes made before 1976 are typically referred to as trailer homes or mobile homes though I feel like people use this term interchangeably from my personal experience. I don’t often hear people refer to them as “manufactured homes”. Manufactured homes are similar to modular homes in how they are built in a controlled environment and then shipped to a location. Typically manufactured homes aren’t put on a concrete base (Typically pillars of some sort instead). Why we decided to move into a mobile home/manufactured home COST, COST, COST. Seriously, I am cheap lol. I honestly have been enamored with tiny home living and living sustainably. This just seemed like the next logical step. I don’t think I would ever live full time in a tiny home (vacation home one day? maybe) but I wanted my own home, my own…
My husband and I are officially home owners! After much consideration about what would be best for us, where we are at in our lives, and what we still want to achieve in the near future we decided on purchasing a manufactured home that is located in a manufactured home community. While it was great not to have to worry about much because maintenance is handled by the landlord. These last 5 years renting our apartment I found myself wanting a lot of what I just simply couldn’t do in our apartment. Now we again have the freedom to curate our home to our needs and have the ability to upgrade it as we see fit. Also, living with white walls for the last 5 years has driven me batty. Seriously, something so trivial as not having paint on the walls has bothered me to no end. Oh and sweet…
Benefits of a Mood or vision board I really enjoy having some structure and organization in my life. I know its not everyone’s cup of tea, but it really makes my day feel polished. Having a mood board for your wedding or really any event allow you to both develop and communicate a distinct vision. It also helps you know recognize what you may be missing from a visual perspective. (Also I suggest keeping some type of spreadsheet or notebook for all of your other wedding details like vendor lists, contacts, guestlists, budgeting etc.) How to create a wedding board with pinterest Pinterest introduced the ability to have subboards or folders if you will within a board. This allows you to further define your board. If you are a person like me who has many, many boards for hobbies, dream/vision boards, DIY, recipes etc. you might really appreciate this nifty…
Review I adore this colourpop palette and not just because I loved DreamStreet band when I was younger. This palette gives you a 100 Watts gorgeous warm glow. I am assuming this palette was created for the summer months but I think this is just absolutely perfect for Autumn. I did not experience any flakiness with any of the shades. Moony was the only shade I had some trouble with swatching. It didn’t go on as smooth as the others. As far as wear and application. It didn’t take long to make a look that could even mix and match with the shades as they are very buildable. Be aware the darker shades are quite pigmented and less forgiving. A little goes a long way. I did not test this without a base but with a base the shades will last all day. The palette it’s self runs at $16…
Every year I pretty much have my rituals. I go to Linvilla Orchards, I eat apples and pumpkin pie. I watch some of my absolute favorite quirky and scary movies. Ghosts, Witches, ghouls. All things creepy, spooky and sometimes even fun. I connect on a deep level with other Halloween lovers and I’m pretty stoked to share this list with you. Feel free to share your favorite halloween movie in the comments below! 🙂 Before watching any movies below with your children please be sure to check the ratings! These range from TV-G to Rated R, in no particular order. Hocus Pocus basically plays non-stop every year anyway right? Good thing it was my childhood go-to. Besides Millennials rule the world now 😛 . Stephen King’s “IT” the original. (Part one of the new remake has a cool take as well if you haven’t gotten to see it. But doesn’t replace…
I’ve been wedding planning in some way, shape or form for about a year now. We knew we wanted a longer engagement. In order to both save money for the wedding to have one we’d love and to be able to share it with our loved ones. We also knew that we wanted enough time to plan and not feel entirely overwhelmed with decision making. While I know in January, things will start rolling a bit quicker, I have discovered some things that would have been helpful to know when I first started, some seem so simple but I just didn’t think of it! 5 tips on beginning to plan your wedding Have fun! Enjoy your engagement before going down the whirl wind of wedding planning, it can be stressful so remember to take time to enjoy it. Plan your wedding based on how you want it to feel and…
If you are crazy about the Wizarding world of Harry Potter the celebration of HP is the absolute most amazing way to get fully immersed that I’ve experienced thus far. Its like going to a marathon showing at the theaters, you’re pretty much guaranteed most of the other people there are die hards too. Why else would someone sit in a movie theater for 8 hours straight or more?! I meet some pretty cool people from around the world. Everyone is stoked about Harry Potter and all things wizardry. The first night we had access to the area after hours and it was glorious. There were dancers in the street. Various performers. There were no lines for the rides. Most importantly there was free butter beer. The demonstrations and talks are pretty awesome. You get the chance to ask questions to some of your wizardry burning questions. Anyone else obsessed…
So life is tough, right? We get so caught up in the day to day, deadlines, babies, households, families, extended families, friends… it can all be overwhelming sometimes. But the key that I’ve found is really remembering to carve time for yourself and center align yourself with some “Me time”. Here’s my three step formula from me to you on how I manage carving out “Me time”: Schedule “Me Time” This may seem silly, or you may be thinking “Girl you don’t have any kids what do you know?” well I’ve helped raise enough kids to know that if you don’t schedule you time, women have a tendency to care for themselves last, which sometimes leave it off the to-do list when the list keeps growing. It’s important for you to schedule, and stick to that schedule. May it be a 5 minute meditation a day, or a one hour…
Agent Carter 1946 inspired makeup Agent Carter is one of many themed collections I’ve seen in the past few years and I wish there were even more I could geek out about. So when I accidentally stumbled across this gem, a marvel themed palette on a past time, I couldn’t resist. Well maybe a little, I didn’t buy the entire collection, just the palette. I had to think practical, right? (Please say yes before I go buy the rest lol.) The palette is designed to look like agent Carter’s 1946 passport. The travel document resembles a vintage styled British passport. (Keep in mind, marvel die hard fans, the name is spelled incorrectly, we know). The colors are absolutely gorgeous, I don’t even think my photos are doing it enough justice. The shades are warm toned, shimmery, creamy and nicely pigmented. I’ve detailed more information about each one below. They are…
The insecurity was so real I had this serious inner turmoil going on around if I really could fully experience a tiny house. I really wanted to experience smaller, more sustainable living but at the same time I felt I had to wait because I was too fat. At 300lbs I decided, I’m not sure why, that I couldn’t do these things until I lost the weight. I guess the reality of not being able to go on the harry potter ride in universal last year hit me kinda hard. I was too fat for the ride, the first time I’ve ever experienced this. So I felt like my obsession with tiny houses and off the grid living was a little out of reach. It seems entirely ridiculous saying it now. Then one day I said F..k it. I booked a tiny house that was only an hour from me…
