So I’m pretty darn sure it’s been a few years since I last shared my skincare routine (face) and to be honest it usually doesn’t change much but for some reason the last month or so I’ve been breaking out like crazy. (I’ve had pretty good skin my whole life and I’m freaking out) There is one product missing from this and that is my BodyShop Tea Tree oil. I feel like the Tea Tree oil stops the blemish in its tracks and minimizes it. While the Clean and Clear spot treatment does the deep dirty work. Both work wonderfully on my sensitive, dry skin (Although I really don’t like the smell of the Tea Tree oil). Depending on the day I switch between the Pore refining cleaner and the facial scrub. They both have their unique perks but I have to be super careful about over-drying, over-stripping my skin…

We’re all a little eco-conscious now that Earth day has recently passed so let’s apply this into our gift giving a little. Buying gorgeous gifts that are also made from recycled material can be a fantastic way to sustain the environment and still appease our gift giving hearts. 1. Here’s a gift that I purchased for my own country loving, mason jar obsessed mother: Over at Willow Stained Glass shop you’ll find some gorgeous blue mason jars flattened down. You can use it for a variety of thins like a spoon rest, change holder, votive holder, soap dish, butter server and the list goes on. At $12 this recycled gift could be talk of the table. 2. If mom is a cosmetic loving gal you should definitely check out Tarte Cosmetics. You should be able to find them at your local department store or online at tartecosmetics.com their products are not only…

Rainbow Looms have been a pretty popular topic with the kids as of the past year. (I even had some polymer clay charms made for my sister for Christmas for her loom bracelets.) So when I was asked to try Rainbow Braid’s metallic set I decided it would be a fun experiment to do with the kids and get a kid take on the bands. My opinion: I felt the bands were superior to a number of sets that the girls already had. The rainbow braid bands were thicker and had a nice bold color to them. They also felt more elastic yet less firm when stretched to the limit compared to a number of other brands. Overall I was highly satisfied with the product and the amazon price is also a fantastic bonus as they are not overpriced like many of the bands you’ll find in local stores. The…

You can view an in-depth description of the products over at my article on FeedMink.com! Some of my favorite products are the multi-purpose blush, the lipgloss, gray shadows, purple shadow and the epic dry oil spray with SPF that I can use for my hair in the summer. I can’t stress the pain of getting sunburn on your scalp and worse have you ever tried putting gross sunblock on your scalp… in your hair… it just isn’t a pretty sight to see. The dry oil spray also smells fantastic. I’m loving the coral themed in pair/contrast with the eyeshadow quad. It gives a sheer natural look on the skin that can be built up to intensity by layering the blush/lipstick/gloss and applying the shadow wet. There is also some anti-aging skincare products in this line that you’ll see in a future post or two. (I’m 26 so now is the…

The average woman applies as many as 515 chemicals in her daily grooming and makeup routine which can potentially be harmful to humans, animals and the environment. Psst, nail polish is one of the worst! (Opt for a water-based version like HoneyBeeGardens) We have to remember that our skin is an organ and to protect it we must be aware of the products we are applying to it. The most obvious one, purchase less. The less of a carbon foot-print you have the better.Another pretty simple one, purchase recyclable product packaging. Check for the three arrow recycling symbolCreate home-made beauty remedy products to supplement some of the ones you use to purchase (nice on the bank too!) My boyfriend’s family gave him a trip for 2 as a Christmas present to the speedwell forge bed and breakfast at the Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania. So naturally I was extremely excited as well as he, thankfully his family scheduled it for March since the weather has been so crazy this winter and the car doesn’t do well in the snow. Conveniently it was planned just a few days after my birthday and during my spring break from classes! We were lucky enough to land warm weather for Saturday and Sunday while we were there as the snow didn’t hit the area until Monday. If you haven’t heard of the Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania then you should go check them out at wolfsanctuarypa.org because they are truly an amazing place with amazing, and very kind people. It is located just near Lancaster, PA in Lititz. During our short stay at…
