Why have I never done this before… scratch that, why haven’t I done this since I was little and using MS paint back on my stone age computer? I made this all with shapes and distorted them to fit what I was looking for. I’ve always told myself I can’t draw people. People are too complicated. I suck at drawing hands and here I go making a person without having to draw a thing at all. It was actually really fun and I think I’ll have to try this more often. (PFT show’d myself huh? That’s what I get for being negative. HAPPINESS! wait… I’m not sure how that applies.) I always found art to be very therapeutic and since this week has been very gloomy in my efforts to celebrate my cousins life in her passing. I just can’t jump into celebrating life, even if she was such an…
It has sadly been a while since I’ve posted a new makeup look, in fact I’m in a kind of makeup slump. I’ve just been so busy with life that I’ve stuck to the whole natural look with minimal switches. It’s time to get out of that slump. This look took me 5 minutes to do and when your crush on time (maybe between work and going out at night?) it’s important to have looks you can do quickly. Of course I could have done a thing or two to finish the look off more but alas my 5 minutes were up. I suggest doing a little smudging on the lower lash line to soften out the look. Excuse my horrid handwriting at the top as I’m still getting use to my wacom tablet. I actually don’t have any foundation on for this simply because I was taking it all right…
LessMilk.com I honestly think I came across this before but never the less Thomas is creating simple (and I say simple loosely) games using HTML5 and Javascript EVERY WEEK! Seriously this is going to be on my bucket list (more like before I’m 27?). Check out the games he’s created so far. Super fun and nice to see the progress. Darby Smart DIY Boxes I came across this site by accident. I think I was looking something up about some DIY I wanted to do and somehow wound up on this epic site. This is perfect for people who want to have some crafts to do as a beginner. Not everyone has the skills to just go out and grab stuff and make something from it so this is a great way to get your feet wet dabbling in many random trades and see what you like to do. They update…
Not much has changed with Kiara, but she has improved a little with the loud noises. I noticed that she notices them the most when she is in my bedroom, which could be because, I am in the backroom with the most windows. But for Christmas I got her one of those treat balls where they have to keep playing with it for the treat to disburse. It has been a great distraction for Kiara when there are loud noises. Other than that Kiara has been pretty mellow lazing around, especially today with our snow day in Philly. (She was not very happy when she was out in it.) The wind is blowing crazy with snow and for once Kiara isn’t interested in what is going on outside but rather, interested in cuddling up with her little Yoda plushie toy. What do you like to do during poor weather?
So I saved up all of the money I got for Christmas and got myself a Intuos Creative pen & touch tablet from Wacom. For anyone who’s spent hours trying to draw with a small trackpad or mouse you know my pain and frustration. So my goal for the year was 2 big purchases. 1. A tablet to make my work easier and a new computer exclusive for work. I’m one down! So let me tell you how awesome this is… its super awesome! Coming from someone who has never experienced the use of a drawing tablet (Seriously I don’t count drawing on my Nexus. ) Wacom has multiple sizes to choose from but since I tend to write and draw with wider strokes I figured a medium would be the perfect size for me. (They have a small version for under $100!) What I didn’t realize until I started…
Originally created as a male engagement ring the titanium wedding band rings have found their way into the fashion scene from street style to more elegant attire and sent me one to try. They are simple enough to wear with most articles of clothing. I love that the thick band gives my look a little more edge to it. This ring is made of titanium and contains clear cubic zirconia stones. It comes with a satin bag for storage. It is a nice weight on your finger. Doesn’t feel cheap or easy to break but doesn’t feel heavy either. It is very smooth and comfortable. After wearing it a number of times in the last month or so it obtained several scrapes across the matte mid-section of the ring but all are superficial and not deep. They will also send you an e-mail if you purchase through amazon about how…
Yes you hear right, Lush Cosmetics now has a spa in our very own Philadelphia located on Walnut Street in center city and let me tell you that it is absolutely fabulous. As a girl that appreciates aesthetics of design in various forms I can tell you this is unlike any spa you’ve experienced to date. (Or at least I have experienced.) There seems to be a general standard for spas, tan walls, white towels and robes. In my mind a very beach like feel no matter if I was in Massachusetts, Florida or some other state the experience was similar if not the same. There was no unique experience, no remembrance of the location. Nothing stood out. Flash forward to Thursday’s event where I first hand got to see these fabulous masseuses in action. Each of the 6 (7 including tailor made) programs has a different soundtrack created by…
So I have never really been a big television person. (Less we count my childhood love for cartoons.) I’ve always been a movie type person but here are some shows that give you a movie vibe with every episode you watch. They leave you on the edge of you seat needing more and lets just agree they are pretty darn epic. So I thought I’d share their return date and some of my shows. I might not watch them every week on schedule but hey isn’t that why we have things like TIVO? What shows are you excited about returning?
One of my to dos this year is to start Friday favorites to round up what I’m loving that week. There may be two items, people, recipies, stories, round-ups etc or there could be ten. But this is a way to share what I find interesting, fun, want in my life or admire each and every week.CrockPot | Owl Measuring Cups| Booties | Dexter @ Netflix | Serving/Mixing bowls | Clever Fox ArtI’m pretty excited that the remaining seasons have been released on Netflix as I never was able to finish the last two seasons. If you don’t mind a little gore, it is an epic show from a very different perspective. What were you loving this week?
I used Photoshop CS3 for this tutorial. Everything works the same if not similar in newer programs as well as these processes can be transferred and used in free programs like GIMP with a similar setup. Step One We are starting fresh so you will need to create a new image. Step Two Be sure when you create your image you set the background to transparent. (If you forget use the magic erase tool on the white or whatever color background to completely remove it.) Step Three Chose the ellipse tool from your shape tool. Step Four Remember if you want a perfect circle hold down the Shift key. You can choose your color before or after. (After? look to the layers menu.) Step Five Add, draw, text, pattern… Whatever you want on your button. (If your image overlaps you can use the mask tool from layers box. Right click…
