This lovely lady, founder of Inspired by Elizabeth, creates amazingly cool steampunk/vintage inspired jewelry pieces. Pieces run anywhere from $10 to upwards of $60. She also does custom pieces and specializes in bridal wear. Keep reading below for her interview!

1. How did you come up with your shop name?

This is actually a funny story. I wanted to name it Inspired because that was truly how I felt when I began creating my jewelry line. I was inspired by everything around me. I started my shop on Etsy and unfortunately the name was already taken (shocking I know). Etsy showed me a list of possible alternatives and one was Inspired by Elizabeth.

2. What inspires you when creating or choosing an item for your shop?
I am inspired a lot by color, texture and just the overall feeling I get when I’m creating a piece.  I love flipping through fashion magazine and gathering tear sheets for inspiration. Usually its the unique color combinations that get my attention.

3. What are your personal favorite items in your shop right now?
There are so many items I create and then think I’d rather keep it for myself! There have been a lot of rare vintage stones that I have put away for myself.  One of my favorites in my shop right now is my new line of Swarovski Crystal Earrings & Necklaces. They are available in 19 different colors.  There is a color to go with every outfit! I have just begun adding some of the colors this week.
Another one of my favorite pieces to create are my CustomSteampunk Birthstone Rings. These are fabulous because it takes the unique Steampunk style and personalizes it. I make these a lot as Mothers Rings. I use Vintage Watch movements to create these.
4. What advice would you give for opening an Etsy Shop/Business?

My advice to anyone who is thinking of opening up an Etsy shop or business is to take that leap. A lot of people think they need a lot of money or inventory to start their business when in fact they already have a great product. Start with what you know and continue to add, develop and grow your business the way you envision it to be. Don’t wait for the stars to align create your own destiny.
